Supergrass at the Larimer Lounge

While many expected to catch the Foo Fighters yesterday and today at Red Rocks, news reached the forefront that the shows were cancelled due to Dave Grohl feeling a bit under the weather.  Brit sensations Supergrass were left in limbo as they were supposed to open both shows.  Nonetheless the buzz about Supergrass playing an intimate show at Larimer Lounge were swirling around the Mile High all day yesterday.  I received confirmation and made plans to attend.  One of the best memories of Supergrass for me is listening to "Pumping On Your Stereo" in the heyday of my youth and my admiration for Brit Pop at the time.  With their new album Diamond Hoo Ha just released we got a steady dose of all new material and a few noteworthy classics to satisfy our hunger for these Oxford lads.  The intimate venue created a perfect setting for the impromptu gig we all witnessed.  I'm sure the band members were taken back in time to those very intimate gigs they played  back in England when they were first starting up.  The show got started with a bang as they opened with "Diamond Hoo Ha Man" followed by a slew of new material before ending things with "Caught By The Fuzz".  Many spectators were left in awe of the show and I'm sure would welcome Supergrass back with open arms in the future. More pics here.
