The Lowdown

Hold out your plastic pumpkin buckets! I got handfuls of musical treats for you!

Wednesday brings Austin (Hook ‘Em) based psychedelic rock band The Black Angels to Boulder’s Fox. These long standing blokes (and lass) will be in Colorado for three shows. and will finish out the next few weeks stateside making their last American stop Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Festival on November 9. Wednesday keeps rolling when local favs Mr. Pacman heat up the Larimer Lounge stage with Golden Triangle for Quintron and Miss Pussycat. Bokonon and Kamino will be up in the Highlands at The Oriental.
This Thursday night in things get a bit folkier. Tea Leaf Green will be up at The Fox and (Die) Pilot will be down at The Hi-Dive. Austin staple Bob Schneider will be over at the Bluebird with Amie Miriello and Branden Sipes will be headlining on South Broadway at Herman’s Hideaway. But not all Thursday night will be folk-based. Globally DJ Sasha will be spinning at Beta. You can snag tickets for $15 for this 18+ show online at Beta’s website. Greatly anticipated Kings of Leon are on the marquee with We Are Scientists and The Stills at The Fillmore.
Boombox, the rad discohouse rock duo will be holding it down at Cervates’ on friday night (and if you miss them, they’ll be at The Fox on Saturday night). A light rail ride, a short walk and a quick ride on the 15 will drop you off at the doors of The Odgen where Yelle, Funeral Party, and Astro Moveo will be throwing down. It will be well worth the outrageous RTD fare. Locals New Ancient Astronauts are scheduled at Moe’s.
The Expedables will be at the Gothic with Rebelution and OPM on Saturday. The Veer Union will be fronting at The Marquis with Random Hero. Mustangs and Madras will be playing the Only Thunder album release Party with Solar Bear.
